Standing Together Against Gender-Based Violence

Stellenbosch GBV Centre

A local initiative in Stellenbosch, South Africa, supported by the Förderverein des Dialogs der Weltreligionen to strengthen assistance for survivors of gender-based violence.

Gender-based violence remains one of the most pressing social challenges in South Africa. Through international cooperation and responsible partnerships, we support this initiative that provide assistance, guidance, and hope to those affected.

A reality that cannot be ignored

Gender-based violence remains one of the most urgent social challenges in South Africa. Across communities, individuals and families are affected by violence that leaves deep physical, emotional, and social consequences.

For many survivors, access to protection, support, and professional guidance is limited. Barriers such as fear, stigma, and lack of resources often prevent people from seeking the help they need. Local initiatives are working tirelessly to change this reality. Yet their ability to provide safe support spaces depends on long-term commitment and international solidarity.

Addressing gender-based violence requires cooperation, responsibility, and sustained engagement.

A Project supporting Survivors
